The Mayor and Board Of Aldermen of the Town of Walls have many goals and dreams for the Town of Walls.  Some of which are:

• The first item is the plan to concentrate on a new Town Hall and to determine the best place for our Town Center.  As the newest growing municipality, we have watched other cities grow and have learned much from them.
• Increaed fire and police protection to keep up with our growth.  Currently, the Walls Fire Department consists of volunteers, and our goal is to increase it with a few paid firefighters.
• We would like to see more community involvment.  We have a neighborhood watch that has just been started, and we would like to see more citizens involved in the Town and Planning Commission Meetings.  We would like to encourage the residents to attend Board meetings and let us know their desires and share their input about their community.
• Business and commercial development is another item for the upcoming year which will improve the quality of life for our citizens.  At the sime time, it will help us pay for increased public serviecs that come with the needs of a growing community.
• As we adopt our Comprehensive Plan for the Town, we will work with the developers to attain the goals listed in the plan and hopefully avoid any problems.
• Another goal is to implement new ordinances, including a curfew ordinance that we hope will help with the public safety of our residents.
• We would also like to encourage tourism in our area.  Archeologists believe they have found a site within the Town called the Irby Site that may prove that Hernando DeSoto crossed the Mississippi at that particular location.
